This series features journalist Barry Yeoman conducting interviews along the Louisiana coast, gathering stories of local resilience in the face of the receding coastline, industry, and community, all due to climate change. This story comes from Bruce Sunpie Barnes, a bandleader who plays accordion and harmonica for Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots. Sunpie is also a passionate conservationist, using music as a way to bind people with the heritage and spirit of the Louisiana coast.

Synopsis
In my Sound Design course at Macalester College, we were tasked in creating an immersive soundscape for a short story picked from a small pool. In my condensed depiction of The Pendulum by Ray Bradbury, I wanted to create a soundscape that reflected the timeless nature of the story’s philosophical quandaries and its mythic qualities, balancing high-tech mechanics SFX with the acoustic, wooden voice of the cello.
