Hey, I’m Razik!

I graduated from Macalester College in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media & Culture Studies. During my time in and out of college, I have strived to create films and videos that question prejudice in higher education, critique violent sociopolitical trends in human history, and ask audiences to reflect on their own contributions to systemic hate and violence toward people of color. All of my efforts in highlighting present issues have been to encourage understanding between ourselves so that we can arrive at solutions instead of compromises.

My work extends from documentary shorts to videography production at the Minnesota History Center. I have dedicated my recent years as a filmmaker, videographer, audio producer, and photographer to the Twin Cities, MN community, working and engaging with local businesses and social justice organizations that are dedicated toward DEI programming and education like the Lealtad-Suzuki Center for Social Justice, the Minnesota Historical Society, the Saint Paul Neighborhood Network, A Peace of My Mind storytelling project, and the Hudson Area Public Library. Through these organizations, I have aided in building access to media equipment and mediamaking lessons for all–regardless of socioeconomic status–and producing media that strengthens communities, bridges divides, and reveals societal injustices that haunt us everyday.

What others think…

“Razik has been an invaluable collaborator for A ‘Peace of My Mind’, supporting both audio production and public programming with care and excellence. He is wonderful with people—a thoughtful listener who makes others feel comfortable and supported, helping them share their stories in powerful and authentic ways. As an audio producer, Razik pays close attention to subtle details, elevating projects from good to truly great. We are fortunate to have him on the team.”

John Noltner, founder & director of a peace of my mind

“In what is sort of half essay film, half narrative, you engage with a lot of complex tropes and questions in a charming, smart, funny, and genuinely thrilling way. When that title drops at the end I’m pretty much floored. And I think you get amazing performances from your actors. You allow your actors to perform creatively and naturally. You lead by example, taking the most difficult role and delivering it with a level of devotion and care that motivates your other actors to do what they can to keep up with you.”

Jeremy meckler, visiting instructor, macalester college

“I thought the film was excellent, really one of the best examples of student work that has ever been realized in any of my classes. You had a clear vision for the film from the outset, and realized it beautifully. You told a powerful story through an innovative use of contemporary footage and archival resources. The tone you manage to set with the piece and your use of voiceover, sound effects, and score was quite compelling, and you dealt with the subject matter with great sensitivity. Your cinematography was exceptional, as you caught interesting perspectives on many familiar spaces. Very exceptional work.”

Morgan Adamson, professor & chair, Macalester college

“I hired Razik to create my wedding video and I was blown away by his work. From the communication before hand, to the filming on our special day, to the final video reveal, Razik was amazing. He took my vision and made it a reality.”

Lucy Sullivan

“Razik was an essential member of our team during his internship. He always brings a positive attitude and has great creative instincts. He has become a regular collaborator with our team and we hope to work with him again very soon!”
